Preparing Our Students For A Global Society
                      A Passport To The Future

Squaw Peak Traditional Academy is eager to provide children with an opportunity to learn a foreign language as a part of its curriculum. Young children have a unique window of opportunity early in life to develop the parts of the brain used for acquiring language. We welcome you to learn more about our school and this unique opportunity for your child.

                       Becoming A Global Learner

                                 50/50 Model
Students spend 50% of their day learning content in English and 50% of their day learning content in Spanish.

A Traditional Academy
As a traditional academy we offer a smaller campus environment with an accelerated curriculum that emphasizes core subjects such as reading, writing and math.  Beginning in kindergarten, students also participate in Physical Education, Technology, Music, Art, and Library.  Students can be viewed working at their own personal desks, and in partnerships or teams. Students wear uniforms to limit outside distractions, to build a sense of community, and to facilitate the learning process.

For more information about the Foreign Language Immersion Program at Squaw Peak Traditional Academy, or information about school tours, please call 602-381-6160 or send an email to Amy Burgess, the Foreign Language Program Liaison, at aburgess@creightonschools.org.

We did it! We have successfully added two Kindergarten classrooms and one 1st grade classroom for the 2010-2011 school year. Space is limited, so if you are interested please contact the school today. Remember now is the time to turn in your enrollment packets, before it is too late!

We have also started a wait list for the 2011-2012 School Year. Please contact the school for more information regarding the Foreign Language Immersion Program.

To Register
The program will start in August 2010 for kindergarten and first grade, and will add an additional grade every year. The school boundaries are 32nd Street on the west, 40th Street on the east, Northern on the north, and Indian School on the south, however, children from outside the boundaries will be admitted to the extent space is available.

Please contact SPTA at 602-381-6169, or Arnie Wessel at awessel@creightonschools.org, with the following information:  (1) your name; (2) your child's name; (3) your child's birth date; (4) year your child will be starting school; (5) address; (6) phone number; and (7) e-mail address.

Parental Involvement
As a school we understand that parents build the foundation for their child's learning. We encourage parent participation in the Squaw Peak Traditional Academy. For more information about our PTO please contact mmarriot@creightonschools.org or check out our website at http://www.squawpeakpto.org/SPTA_PTO/About_Us.html.

Parental Advisory Committee
We have a Parent Advisory Committee, which meets once a month with school and district administration to develop program policies and address any parent concerns, and Parent Ambassadors, who meet with prospective parents to answer questions, give school tours, and provide information.  For more information, please contact Renee@SPTA@gmail.com.
